you said meet me at eight
you showed up at nine
I waited for you
you showed no sign

looking for love in you
passion was there
not knowing what to do
your eyes i’d stare

hoping that love was real
you charmed me all night
avoiding the hard questions
i didn’t want to fight

it came to the end
after you got what you want
now I’m all alone
you continue your hunt…

by the phone
no calls, no knocking’
i’m still alone

i know in my heart
that true love was not
still i’m left waiting
thinking it could be taught

with a little more time
maybe one more night
