This might be a departure from the normal Get Your Ex Back story, but I need help. I’m 20 and my boyfriend of 5 months broke up with me last month. The reason he gave was he needed to concentrate on school and I was too big a distraction for him.

Now, unfortunately I can’t get him out of my head. He’s all I think about and I love him very much. The weird thing is in the last week he has been showing up all the time. First he came in to my work and lingered around talking to me about things. Next he called me and asked if I had seen one of his shirts that I know I don’t have. Finally he emailed me and wanted to know what i was doing for spring break.

I’m pretty sure these are all signs that my ex boyfriend still loves me…

Now, I’m perplexed because he broke up with me. But suddenly he’s everywhere I look. I want him back but I don’t want to make a fool out of myself asking him what he wants. Should i wait for him to make a move, if so should I even accept. My mom told me to never let a guy walk all over you.

Would it be walking all over me if I went back out with him?

Ok fellas if you’re in the same boat as I was and want to know how to get your girlfriend back you might get something out of this story. First thing is, I’m going to admit it right up front that I screwed up with my girlfriend.

She was my dream girl from college. It took months to get up the nerve to talk to her and ask her out. When we started dating I told her how beautiful she was and paid for everything. I’m talking about flowers, a bracelet, movies, dinner you name it.

I fell for this girl so hard, but you know what. I was losing my cool, I was all over this girl and it drove her away because I was soo clingy. I would text her constantly and always want to be with her.

It went well for about a month and then she started getting distant. In fact on one weekend when I had a big night out planned fo her it went downhill fast. I brought her roses and we went to dinner and then we met up with some friends to go dancing.

I started drinking in order to get up the nerve to go dancing cause I knew she wanted me to. I didn’t want to dance right away, so I told her to dance with her girlfriends.

Well five minutes later she’s dancing with some buffed guy out on the floor, kinda hangin on him. Later on she comes over and looks at me and says, “are you mad.” I wasn’t trying to look mad but I was upset so I said, I don’t think you should be dancing with him like that.”

Next thing you know she says I’m jealous and we start to argue. Then she says something like, you should go find one of the ugly girls to make out with since they don’t like to dance either. She then said she’s leaving and walked out with one of her friends. Surprisingly the dude she was dancing with left like one minute before she left.

The next two days when I tried to call her she didn’t answer my calls or texts. I was so messed up in the head cause I did everything for this girl, and I wasn’t even visibly mad when she started dancing with the guy. She started the fight on purpose!

It wasn’t until later that weeks when I talked to one of her girl friends before I found out what really went wrong. Luckily for me this girl liked to gossip because she told be some juicy facts.

She said that my girlfriend told her that before we started dating she thought I was the cutest guy in the class. She said that when we started dating she really liked me but… after the first few dates I became “friend” material.

Perplexed I asked her what changed her mind since I did everything for this girl, just like I thought she wanted. Her friend goes on to tell me that I was an open book. I didn’t have much sex appeal and I was… boring.

It’s then that I realized that doing everything for this girl made her think of me as a wimp. This girl wanted some one who wasn’t so easy to understand. Basically this girl wanted a challenge.

Suddenly a huge revelation dawned on me. Sexy girls tend to gravitate toward the guys who treat them like crap and walk all over them because they feed off emotion. They don’t care what the emotions are they just want them.

By giving and doing everything for her I basically lost all of my sex appeal. My girl wanted a strong confident man and I was being just the opposite. So now on to the good part…

So when I finally figured this out I immediately did the following.

Stopped calling her.

Stopped emailing and texting.

Stopped crying about it.

Got a haircut, groomed myself and bought some new clothes.

Went to class and started talking to my friend about all the stuff I had done the night before.

Acted like nothing had happened and (this is important) stopped being so predicatable. When she said hi to me, rather then say my first response which was, “Why didn’t you return my call,” I said, “I’m doing great, hey don’t sweat the dancing thing I ended up having a really fun time after you left.”

Class started and all through class I saw her continue to look over at me. I kept on like this the rest of the week. Everytime she would engage me in small talk I said upbeat and positive things about how things are going just like my life couldn’t be better.

What’s funny is, on the third day of this, another very attractive girl in the class suddenly perked up and started talking to me about the club. The next day I got up the courage and asked her out. You should have seen the look on my ex girlfriends face, priceless.

Well, long story short my ex called me that night and told me how much she misses me and how sorry she is for what she did. Then she asked if we could go out on the same night I set for my date. I told her sorry, i already had a date. Then she said how about the next night.

My ex girlfriends wanted me back and I had two dates for the same weekend. I was thrilled. Now I’m trying to figure out how to keep this going cause I’m loving the feeling!

Break Up Story submitted by Titania – Titled: We Had Become TOO physical

My friend introduced me to my ex and his best friend. At first, I didn’t really notice him. I thought he was cute and all, but I didn’t expect him to ask me out three days later and to be such a good guy. We were texting during the weekend and we found out we had some things in common.

By the way he was acting so charming around me, I gradually started falling head over heels with this guy. He would always say the most awesome things–some things most other guys don’t even say. He would even occasionally copy what I would do or say, which was the cutest thing in the world!

We gradually started getting closer and closer. Occasionally we had some hardships..like since I had more experiences with guys, I was always afraid he would do something that he wasn’t supposed to (i.e. talking to other girls behind my back). When he found out I was being this way, he would always CRY and say it didn’t seem like I trusted him.

I did trust him, but to a certain extent, to be honest. And I had previous knowledge of guys by my father saying “the only thing men want in a relationship is sex; especially when we barely knew each other before he asked me out”, so I would always panic. Especially when we were already physical in our relationship. Now its been almost ten months together–and he breaks up with me.

Why? A couple of reasons. He tells me the “main” one, which is because “we had become TOO physical..we would never do anything else [besides making out]” and “we just didn’t have enough in common”. Now I think one of the reasons why we would never do anything else is because my dad wouldn’t let us because my dad didn’t like him at all.

He wouldn’t let me go to his house–a common place to do stuff HE likes (i.e. video games). The other reason which I personally think IS the MAIN reason: my panicking and lack of trust and respect for him. Now since we’ve broken up, we only talked for three days in a row on the phone, and last Sunday he texted me to see how I was doing.

I am aware this is the sign that he still thinks about me, even though we’re currently mutual friends, but does he really still love me? And honestly, this doesn’t make any sense because we’ve stayed together for so long and even THREE girls (two which I didn’t even know) came up to me and said, “He seems so happy when he’s with you.”

So I thought I was being a good girlfriend..and I think this whole thing was my fault. And I really want him back to not just be a better girlfriend..but to care and love him..just like how we did ten months ago. What can I do?

If you want the opposite sex flocking to you online. You need to know how to how to write an online dating profile that gets results. You have probably already joined an online dating service or three.

Next thing you need to consider is how to create an attention catching profile —> hopefully one that will attract the attention of the man or woman of your dreams.

Even if you still want to get your ex back in the long run, getting out there and making yourself seen will do wonders to boost your confidence and level of attraction.

So, first thing you need to do is start with the profile introduction. Even if writing isn’t your thing… relax, you can do this.

Number one factor to consider when writing your online dating profile is to be absolutely honest about yourself. That doesn’t mean you want to necessarily say anything negative, just don’t be tempted to create some imaginary persona. It will definitely backfire when they find out the truth.

After all, you’re looking for a man or woman who will come to love the real you, right? A great way to list your strengths without going into fantasy land is to examine your past relationships.

Then try listing the things that you liked best about your ex and the things you want to avoid. Also the things you want in a relationship. As your brainstorming write these things down. You can elaborate on the details later as you think about them and transfer them to your online dating profile.

If your last ex had any nasty habits like smoking in the house and you absolutely hated it, then I’m sure you’ll want to try to avoid that in the future. If you’re an animal lover and have a pet kitty, then by all means talk about it. Just like you don’t want to suffer from being exposed to a indoor smoker, you’ll want to let them know that if they’re someone who is allergic, or (gasp) hates cats, they may not be right for you.

One things you do want to include in your online profile is what makes you unique. By accenting the things that make you “so special,” you’ll paint a good picture of yourself, and it will help find people you share the same interests as you.

List the things that are most important in your life and share them. Do you have a love for a certain activity, sport or hobby. Maybe you play a musical instument. What ever you do really well and think Mr. or Mrs. Right will appreciate it, then include it in your description.

If beeing a volunteer is something that makes you feel worthwhile and helpful, adding it may attract someone who at the very least will support you, and maybe even join you. Getting beyond superficial things, will help attract woman or men who share your interests and values.

Now when it comes to pictures you may want to select the best ones you can. If you have pictures from a professional photographer or studio then you should consider using them on your online dating profile. You can hire a photographer to take a set of pictures you can use to make yourself as appealing as possible.

This is especially important because the picture is the FIRST thing they will see of you. Often even before they even open up your profile. Finally what they read inside your profile about yourself will determine if they decide to take action and contact you to followup. So there you have it, follow these steps and you’ll be on your way to having an online dating profile that gets noticed!

Does my ex still have feelings for me? It’s a question I desperately need answered because it’s been a little over one month now since we broke up and he still calls me and wants to see me. But he was the one who broke up with me last month and I think it’s some kind of a test.

The reason he gave for breaking up was that I needed to stop talking to my other guy friends. I can understand his jealousy, but some of these friends I’ve known for years. The relationship is innocent and I don’t think he trusts me.

But I really do still love him, we were together for seven months and he’s 20 and I’m 18. Should I tell him I’ll stop talking to these other guys to be exclusive? I don’t want to lose him if it’s really my fault.

Thanks from confused Megan in California.

————————————————————————————–

After all you’ve worked hard at getting over your ex, not chasing them, rebuilding your self esteem, and working on upping your attraction factor, right?

You made it through the tough “no call time,” and now you’re ready to get back out in the dating scene. Here’s the questions you need to know upfront to make absolutely sure this boyfriend is right for you.

These first questions are geared for those of you who have joined a dating service and written a profile that paints a perfect picture of you. This means you’ve already uploaded a few great looking pictures, and now you are ready to start talking with some people you’re beginning to meet. In a little bit we’ll hit, “what to ask, to learn more about your future boyfriend,” to get a good idea what he’s like.

It’s at this stage you want to start separating the loser boyfriends from the ones with real potential. It would be nice if you owned some sort of B.S detector, or at the very least a pet that could growl at the real assholes. You need to find out if the person you’ve met is who they really say they are… or believe they are.

Wouldn’t it be cool if men wore signs like “Player” or “Baby Daddy,” or even, “Felon!”… but unfortunately they don’t so it’s completely up to you to find out these things for yourself. The best way to do this is to just come right out and ask direct questions.

The goal here is to find out what mistakes to avoid making and the best way to impress this guy if you decide he seems right for you. After you are past the initial small chit chat, just come right out and ask him. What are the biggest mistakes girls make when dating online?”

You’ll want to listen thoughtfully to his answers. Hopefully with that question you’ll get a glimpse into what his views are on women. Many guys won’t say much or give a definitive answer, so you may need to coax them with more small talk. A good follow up questions would be, “What do you really think about dating online?”

From here he might tell you about any bad experiences dating he’s had with online dating and possibly give you an idea of what to avoid. what you should really be aiming for is this question which should give you insight into what kind of guy you’re dealing with…

It’s an important one and it goes something like this ”What caused the break up in your last relationship?” Chance are if he pours all the blame squarely on his ex then he’s probably not being honest. This would be a red flag that maybe you want to keep on looking.

If he puts all the blame on himself, then he may be being honest, but not necessarily a good catch. It pays to be aware his reasons for breaking up and how he treated his ex. If he says the breakup was due to a mutual agreement, or it just wasn’t a good match, then you may have the correct answer you’re looking for.

As you eventually begin to see the new boyfriend, you’ll be able to ramp up the questions accordingly. You want someone who makes you feel wanted and won’t end up taking advantage of you. With careful planning you get to know your boyfriend better and avoid potential pitfalls like being strung along, lied too, cheated on, or worse.

As the relationship progresses you can ask things like:

1. Describe yourself in a single sentence
2. What would you cook for me?
3. What would you like to change about yourself?
4. If you could have three wishes, what would they be?
5. Do you make friends easy?
6. What’s your idea of the perfect date?
7. Where do you see yourself in five, ten, fifteen years?
8. Who is your favorite hero of all time?
9. Do you consider yourself a happy person?
10. What is your greatest trait, accomplishment, goal for the future.

The list can go on and on. Continue to use your imagination to find out as much as you can about your future boyfriend. Ask these questions and don’t be afraid to learn the truth. Many men may try to avoid this stuff, but in the end it will tell you a lot about the person you’re with.
