This might be a departure from the normal Get Your Ex Back story, but I need help. I’m 20 and my boyfriend of 5 months broke up with me last month. The reason he gave was he needed to concentrate on school and I was too big a distraction for him.

Now, unfortunately I can’t get him out of my head. He’s all I think about and I love him very much. The weird thing is in the last week he has been showing up all the time. First he came in to my work and lingered around talking to me about things. Next he called me and asked if I had seen one of his shirts that I know I don’t have. Finally he emailed me and wanted to know what i was doing for spring break.

I’m pretty sure these are all signs that my ex boyfriend still loves me…

Now, I’m perplexed because he broke up with me. But suddenly he’s everywhere I look. I want him back but I don’t want to make a fool out of myself asking him what he wants. Should i wait for him to make a move, if so should I even accept. My mom told me to never let a guy walk all over you.

Would it be walking all over me if I went back out with him?

Ok fellas if you’re in the same boat as I was and want to know how to get your girlfriend back you might get something out of this story. First thing is, I’m going to admit it right up front that I screwed up with my girlfriend.

She was my dream girl from college. It took months to get up the nerve to talk to her and ask her out. When we started dating I told her how beautiful she was and paid for everything. I’m talking about flowers, a bracelet, movies, dinner you name it.

I fell for this girl so hard, but you know what. I was losing my cool, I was all over this girl and it drove her away because I was soo clingy. I would text her constantly and always want to be with her.

It went well for about a month and then she started getting distant. In fact on one weekend when I had a big night out planned fo her it went downhill fast. I brought her roses and we went to dinner and then we met up with some friends to go dancing.

I started drinking in order to get up the nerve to go dancing cause I knew she wanted me to. I didn’t want to dance right away, so I told her to dance with her girlfriends.

Well five minutes later she’s dancing with some buffed guy out on the floor, kinda hangin on him. Later on she comes over and looks at me and says, “are you mad.” I wasn’t trying to look mad but I was upset so I said, I don’t think you should be dancing with him like that.”

Next thing you know she says I’m jealous and we start to argue. Then she says something like, you should go find one of the ugly girls to make out with since they don’t like to dance either. She then said she’s leaving and walked out with one of her friends. Surprisingly the dude she was dancing with left like one minute before she left.

The next two days when I tried to call her she didn’t answer my calls or texts. I was so messed up in the head cause I did everything for this girl, and I wasn’t even visibly mad when she started dancing with the guy. She started the fight on purpose!

It wasn’t until later that weeks when I talked to one of her girl friends before I found out what really went wrong. Luckily for me this girl liked to gossip because she told be some juicy facts.

She said that my girlfriend told her that before we started dating she thought I was the cutest guy in the class. She said that when we started dating she really liked me but… after the first few dates I became “friend” material.

Perplexed I asked her what changed her mind since I did everything for this girl, just like I thought she wanted. Her friend goes on to tell me that I was an open book. I didn’t have much sex appeal and I was… boring.

It’s then that I realized that doing everything for this girl made her think of me as a wimp. This girl wanted some one who wasn’t so easy to understand. Basically this girl wanted a challenge.

Suddenly a huge revelation dawned on me. Sexy girls tend to gravitate toward the guys who treat them like crap and walk all over them because they feed off emotion. They don’t care what the emotions are they just want them.

By giving and doing everything for her I basically lost all of my sex appeal. My girl wanted a strong confident man and I was being just the opposite. So now on to the good part…

So when I finally figured this out I immediately did the following.

Stopped calling her.

Stopped emailing and texting.

Stopped crying about it.

Got a haircut, groomed myself and bought some new clothes.

Went to class and started talking to my friend about all the stuff I had done the night before.

Acted like nothing had happened and (this is important) stopped being so predicatable. When she said hi to me, rather then say my first response which was, “Why didn’t you return my call,” I said, “I’m doing great, hey don’t sweat the dancing thing I ended up having a really fun time after you left.”

Class started and all through class I saw her continue to look over at me. I kept on like this the rest of the week. Everytime she would engage me in small talk I said upbeat and positive things about how things are going just like my life couldn’t be better.

What’s funny is, on the third day of this, another very attractive girl in the class suddenly perked up and started talking to me about the club. The next day I got up the courage and asked her out. You should have seen the look on my ex girlfriends face, priceless.

Well, long story short my ex called me that night and told me how much she misses me and how sorry she is for what she did. Then she asked if we could go out on the same night I set for my date. I told her sorry, i already had a date. Then she said how about the next night.

My ex girlfriends wanted me back and I had two dates for the same weekend. I was thrilled. Now I’m trying to figure out how to keep this going cause I’m loving the feeling!

I’m a 19 year old young man and have I got a story to tell you!

Well I was in a serious relationship for 8 months, man, i loved her so much. She came into my life when I really needed someone, the first 4 months of the relationship were the most happiest times of my life. I finally found someone that understood me and too be honest, take care of me.

So then came the 4 months after, well i guess you can say it was hell. It starts off when she needed me and I wasnt there for her, she would be looking for me but I would try too stay away. I had her, but I messed it up, one day!! My phone broke and wasnt able too reach her any more, thats when hell came.

She would usually call me on my house phone but she wasnt any more, I was worried!! We started getting into arguments, and soon enough I made the mistake of putting my hands on her, i so regret from the bottom of my heart ever laying a hand on her.

Slowly but surely, she was slippin away, i had too get her back. But she treated me different, there was no love any more and it seemed like she was breaking my heart on purpus.

We broke up for a while, then I found out she was talking to another man, I quickly went too her house and somehow we got back together. but then again, the arguments and fighting came too surface, mostly becuase I thought she wasnt acting the way she was suppose too, I can already tell that something or someone was on her mind, i wanted too erase that, but it just didn’t happen, things got worse.

I was at her house one day and she said she was pregneant, so we were on our way to the clinic when we had another argument, I was infuriated becuase she was acting like a complete B&%$@!! We were playing at first but then she got violent with me and using harsh words, so i banged her door down and helled her too the ground, yelling at her.

Afterwards, I felt really bad for being so violent but deep down I was heart broken becuase my baby wasn’t the same any more. We were talking for a couple of minutes when out of nowhere the police came, I was arrested and put into jail, i was too have no contact with her, so when I got out she called me unexpectedly, but I avoided her.

So a month passed and I found a job and was doing good, but missing her. One day I saw her and man was she looking fine!! I had too talk to her again, according too me, forget the law im gonna talk too her. I did, and surprisingly we actually got along well, but only for a while. Things started to go to hell again, and so we just broke up.

I didn’t want any trouble, and she was mature about us breaking up, she said it would be better if we just break up, it was hard too take after all we’ve been through, but I know its for the best. So I respect her even though she probably hates me, I wish her luck finding someone to take care of her, becuase that’s one girl I should have been taking care of.

Break up story titled – I hate my ex girlfriend – submitted by Tony

I’m a 19 year old guy who until recently was doing pretty well just being single and going to college. Two months ago I met a girl and all of that changed. I had to see her all of the time and after a week or so of dating I asked her to be my girlfriend. She said yes and we began seeing each other practically every day.

Fast forward to one month later and she became my whole life!

My new girlfriend was all I could think about, I called and texted her constantly. When we weren’t together she was all I could think about. Then one day it happened…

My car had broken down, so I was driving a convertible rental car and wanted to show it off. I got the bright idea I’d drive to her house to surprise her and take her to the beach because I knew she was home. I arrived at the exact same time that she was coming out of her house with some other dude!

Not only that, she had a towel and was drying her hair like she just got out of the shower. I drove up to them and said, “what’s up?” The look on her face told me everything I needed to know. She said surprised, “Nothing, we’re just hanging out?”

Confused I said, “I though you’d want to go to the beach today.” Her and the dude just looked at me weird and I said, “ok later,” and left.

As I drove to the beach by myself I was kicking myself, why didn’t I ask what was going on, should I have confronted the guy, should I have confronted my girlfriend. Right now all I can think about is how much I miss her and how much I hate my girlfriend for doing this to me.

It’s been three days since it’s happened and I’m totally confused… I feel lost and just want her back, but I know in my heart I’ve been played!

————————————————————————————–

Break Up Story submitted by Titania – Titled: We Had Become TOO physical

My friend introduced me to my ex and his best friend. At first, I didn’t really notice him. I thought he was cute and all, but I didn’t expect him to ask me out three days later and to be such a good guy. We were texting during the weekend and we found out we had some things in common.

By the way he was acting so charming around me, I gradually started falling head over heels with this guy. He would always say the most awesome things–some things most other guys don’t even say. He would even occasionally copy what I would do or say, which was the cutest thing in the world!

We gradually started getting closer and closer. Occasionally we had some hardships..like since I had more experiences with guys, I was always afraid he would do something that he wasn’t supposed to (i.e. talking to other girls behind my back). When he found out I was being this way, he would always CRY and say it didn’t seem like I trusted him.

I did trust him, but to a certain extent, to be honest. And I had previous knowledge of guys by my father saying “the only thing men want in a relationship is sex; especially when we barely knew each other before he asked me out”, so I would always panic. Especially when we were already physical in our relationship. Now its been almost ten months together–and he breaks up with me.

Why? A couple of reasons. He tells me the “main” one, which is because “we had become TOO physical..we would never do anything else [besides making out]” and “we just didn’t have enough in common”. Now I think one of the reasons why we would never do anything else is because my dad wouldn’t let us because my dad didn’t like him at all.

He wouldn’t let me go to his house–a common place to do stuff HE likes (i.e. video games). The other reason which I personally think IS the MAIN reason: my panicking and lack of trust and respect for him. Now since we’ve broken up, we only talked for three days in a row on the phone, and last Sunday he texted me to see how I was doing.

I am aware this is the sign that he still thinks about me, even though we’re currently mutual friends, but does he really still love me? And honestly, this doesn’t make any sense because we’ve stayed together for so long and even THREE girls (two which I didn’t even know) came up to me and said, “He seems so happy when he’s with you.”

So I thought I was being a good girlfriend..and I think this whole thing was my fault. And I really want him back to not just be a better girlfriend..but to care and love him..just like how we did ten months ago. What can I do?

If you’ve ever lost your girlfriend then you know it can hit you hard. You may be left confused and wondering,”why do women break up with men in the first place?”

Well I hate to break it to you, but women and men are very different. Although you may feel like you’re giving her everything she needs, many times you find out later, that’s not the case. The good thing is women don’t have to be a complete mystery, they often give plenty of subtle signs telling you what they want during a relationship.

You just need to know what to look for and avoid making the same mistakes many guys make while dating. For one thing, have you ever asked yourself why women break up with a guy who gives them everything they need? Well obviously if it was “everything,” they wouldn’t leave wanting more… so what is it that makes girls want to break up?

Well, here are some of the top reasons your girlfriend may become an ex girlfriend if you don’t watch out.

1. She’s not attracted to you anymore. This ones a biggie and it can mean several different things. For starters women want a man with plenty of self confidence.

If you’re the jealous type who doesn’t trust your girlfriend, this is often perceived as a sign of low self confidence to your girl. They may put up with it for a while, but before too long you will start to look unappealing to them. In short you become a wuss.

The funny thing is, girlfriends almost always try to give you signs you’re being a wuss, often resulting in you feeling worse and acting more jealous, more clingy etc. It’s a downward spiral once this starts.

Your girl doesn’t want a wussy, she wants a man. Why do you think many girls go for the bad boy types, the ones they know will end up hurting them in the long run?

It’s uncontrollable instinct and it’s due to the fact that these types of guys have a high level of self confidence, and… They are in control.

Bad boys are humorous, playful and exciting. They don’t hang on the girls every move. If you’re too clingy it could mean disaster for your relationship. Which leads us to number two.

2. You’re too predictable. Women want some excitement in their lives and if you’ve fallen into the rut of just going through the motions you are probably boring her. Most women find “nice guys,” while cute, and great for friends, very boring overall. You don’t want to end up in this category, demoted to friend material status, do you?

If you’re not making your girlfriend experience new things, acting unpredictable, taking charge, surprising her and telling her where you’re taking her tonight, then your relationship is suspect.

Your girlfriend wants passion. When she asks what you want to do tonight, she doesn’t want to hear you say, “whatever you want to do!” Many guys fall into the trap of trying to do everything they can to impress a girl. Often totally unaware of how much damage they are doing to their relationship.

Don’t make your girlfriend look elsewhere to find the feelings of excitement that she wants.

Many women want to feel the excitement of a man who is confident in himself, self sustaining and knows what he wants. Are you showing your lady that your unpredictable and passionate? Or are you continually acting predictable and dull?

3. My boyfriends not there for me. Guys, if you are not there for your girl, then your lack of attention will get her looking elsewhere for someone who gives her more attention.

This can be best corrected with a balanced approach. Obviously it can be a fine line due to the fact that you don’t want to seem too clingy, right? Your best bet is to show you care, give her regular attention and still maintain your normal activities with your friends. Spending one on one time just with her is a good way to alleviate your girlfriends lack of attention problem.

4. You are Not compatible to her core beliefs. This one is tricky and simply put means you both don’t hold the same values in high regard. If you’re a conservative money grubbing capitalist banker and she’s a die hard socialist liberal then chances are you guys might not see exactly eye to eye.

It sometimes happens that after a while of dating a girl you both realize just how different you really are. In this case good communication is crucial to talk about where you both stand to try to better understand what your girlfriend really wants.

5. Your level of commitment. Are you in there for the long haul or just fooling around. Women are constantly evaluating the situation of the relationship and how it stacks up to their long term plans.

If you both are at different stages it can put a huge strain on the romance. Does she want to get married while you’re still in dating mode? If so you want to confront these issues before they blow up.

Of course, these are just a few of the many reasons a relationship can fall apart. There are hundreds of reasons why women break up with men.

If you’ve got a girlfriend who still talks with her ex-boyfriends you probably want to know why, and what you can do about it. First thing to consider is how did you find out about her talking with the ex boyfriend. Was she open and honest about the communication, or was it something you found out by accident?

If it was something she was trying to hide then you may have a serious problem. For one thing, how often is the contact taking place and why? Since it’s her ex, you need to try to understand the need to connect with the ex in the first place.

Obviously if they didn’t have kids together there shouldn’t be a whole lot of contact. Otherwise it would become a constant source of frustration that you should not be willing to deal with and you should let her know.

However, if your girlfriend is upfront and honest about it and willing to discuss it with you, then you should be “somewhat,” understanding. No matter what, it is a difficult situation to be in and one which you should communicate your feelings about in order to make sure it doesn’t escalate into resentment and bad feelings.

Partners in any long-term relationship need to have respect for one another which is the foundation of a long lasting relationship. Talking to an ex, whether friendly chit-chat or not is usually not a sign of respect to your current love. She needs to understand that if she loves and respects you, then you need to know what is going on with the two of them and ask for it to stop.

You need to let her know that while it’s good to remember and learn from the past it should not influence your current relationship. Tell your girlfriend how you really feel about the contact with the ex boyfriend and always trsut your gut feelings. If it doesn’t feel right, it’s probably not.

Does my ex still have feelings for me? It’s a question I desperately need answered because it’s been a little over one month now since we broke up and he still calls me and wants to see me. But he was the one who broke up with me last month and I think it’s some kind of a test.

The reason he gave for breaking up was that I needed to stop talking to my other guy friends. I can understand his jealousy, but some of these friends I’ve known for years. The relationship is innocent and I don’t think he trusts me.

But I really do still love him, we were together for seven months and he’s 20 and I’m 18. Should I tell him I’ll stop talking to these other guys to be exclusive? I don’t want to lose him if it’s really my fault.

Thanks from confused Megan in California.

————————————————————————————–

Before you go jumping back into a relationship with your ex or someone new, here’s some questions to ask your boyfriend so you don’t make the same mistakes as in the past.

After all you’ve worked hard at getting over your ex, not chasing them, rebuilding your self esteem, and working on upping your attraction factor, right?

You made it through the tough “no call time,” and now you’re ready to get back out in the dating scene. Here’s the questions you need to know upfront to make absolutely sure this boyfriend is right for you.

These first questions are geared for those of you who have joined a dating service and written a profile that paints a perfect picture of you. This means you’ve already uploaded a few great looking pictures, and now you are ready to start talking with some people you’re beginning to meet. In a little bit we’ll hit, “what to ask, to learn more about your future boyfriend,” to get a good idea what he’s like.

It’s at this stage you want to start separating the loser boyfriends from the ones with real potential. It would be nice if you owned some sort of B.S detector, or at the very least a pet that could growl at the real assholes. You need to find out if the person you’ve met is who they really say they are… or believe they are.

Wouldn’t it be cool if men wore signs like “Player” or “Baby Daddy,” or even, “Felon!”… but unfortunately they don’t so it’s completely up to you to find out these things for yourself. The best way to do this is to just come right out and ask direct questions.

The goal here is to find out what mistakes to avoid making and the best way to impress this guy if you decide he seems right for you. After you are past the initial small chit chat, just come right out and ask him. What are the biggest mistakes girls make when dating online?”

You’ll want to listen thoughtfully to his answers. Hopefully with that question you’ll get a glimpse into what his views are on women. Many guys won’t say much or give a definitive answer, so you may need to coax them with more small talk. A good follow up questions would be, “What do you really think about dating online?”

From here he might tell you about any bad experiences dating he’s had with online dating and possibly give you an idea of what to avoid. what you should really be aiming for is this question which should give you insight into what kind of guy you’re dealing with…

It’s an important one and it goes something like this ”What caused the break up in your last relationship?” Chance are if he pours all the blame squarely on his ex then he’s probably not being honest. This would be a red flag that maybe you want to keep on looking.

If he puts all the blame on himself, then he may be being honest, but not necessarily a good catch. It pays to be aware his reasons for breaking up and how he treated his ex. If he says the breakup was due to a mutual agreement, or it just wasn’t a good match, then you may have the correct answer you’re looking for.

As you eventually begin to see the new boyfriend, you’ll be able to ramp up the questions accordingly. You want someone who makes you feel wanted and won’t end up taking advantage of you. With careful planning you get to know your boyfriend better and avoid potential pitfalls like being strung along, lied too, cheated on, or worse.

As the relationship progresses you can ask things like:

1. Describe yourself in a single sentence
2. What would you cook for me?
3. What would you like to change about yourself?
4. If you could have three wishes, what would they be?
5. Do you make friends easy?
6. What’s your idea of the perfect date?
7. Where do you see yourself in five, ten, fifteen years?
8. Who is your favorite hero of all time?
9. Do you consider yourself a happy person?
10. What is your greatest trait, accomplishment, goal for the future.

The list can go on and on. Continue to use your imagination to find out as much as you can about your future boyfriend. Ask these questions and don’t be afraid to learn the truth. Many men may try to avoid this stuff, but in the end it will tell you a lot about the person you’re with.
